Netflix’s Mindhunter gave all of us a damn good dose of criminal psychology and murder combined with a good amount of gore and chills. And as (sorta) disturbing as it was, a lot of us craved for more of it after the first season ended. Mindhunter came out way back in 2017, and it feels like that was a lifetime ago. Maybe it was ( ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ). But the wait is over, ladies and gentlemen! The production of season 2 ended in December, last year. So, needless to say, it is set to come out really soon. And we have all the confirmed details for season 2 that you need to know.
The second season of Mindhunter was confirmed almost as soon as season 1 debuted in 2017. But the last time we heard of Mindhunter, but the details were pretty scarce. Y’all need not worry, though, because this time around we have more to give you. First things first, season 2 is all set to premiere on August 16. David Fincher, the producer, confirmed that when he appeared on The Treatment, a podcast.
But he was not the first to reveal it. Charlize Theron, the executive producer for the series, confirmed the August-release way back in April. She did so when she was promoting one of her movies on SiriusXM.
Plot and Cast of Mindhunter Season 2
Bill Tench and Holden Ford in Mindhunter, season 1
Now that we have the official date, let’s talk about the plot and the cast. The second season will follow agents Bill Tench and Holden Ford as they explore the notorious and ghastly Atlanta child murders. Both Johnathan Groff and Holt McCallany are set to reprise their roles as Holden Ford and Bill Tench, respectively. Needless to say, it won’t be their only case, but it’ll surely hold a lot of importance.
Considering the fact that Season 1 ended with a cliffhanger, it goes without saying that the audiences have high hopes from the second season. But, at the same time, all of us know that a TV series like Mindhunter can never disappoint.
