Red Chillies Entertainment, Shah Rukh Khan’s productions company, along with Netflix has finally announced the launch date for their upcoming series Bard of Blood, starring Emraan Hashmi. The streaming service has revealed that the show will premiere on September 27th, with all episodes
The series will be based on Bilal Siddiquis book of the same name, with the synopsis as follows:
"The story is about four Indian intelligence officers belonging to the Indian Intelligence Wing (IIW) who are compromised before they can relay an important piece of information to India. They get captured and are about to be decapitated. The stakes are high. Back in India, the intelligence veteran Sadiq Sheikh, the handler of the captured agents, realizes he must spearhead a clandestine mission to rescue his men. He reaches out to a former spy and now professor of Shakespeare, Kabir Anand – a man who knows the terrain and politics of Balochistan inside out. Kabir must connect the dots from the cryptic information that he has at his disposal. The only way for Kabir to get the answers is to embark upon a dangerous journey and complete unfinished business."
Along with the annoucement, Netflix also revealed the teaser poster for Bard of Blood.

Bard of Blood stars Emraan Hashmi, Vineet Kumar Singh, Shobhita Dhulipala, Kirti Kulhari, and Rajit Kapoor. The show will mark yet another stride on Netflix’s part to break through in the Indian market. The streaming service has been very vocal about their interest in producing regional content for India, and by partnering with Red Chillies Entertainment, they’ve pretty much cracked the code to produce high-quality content with creators who know their audience.
If anything, Netflix needs to produce even more exclusive content, considering competition is at an all-time high. Earlier this year it Netflix revealed its plans to introduce a new pricing tier targeting mobile users, with cheap monthly prices.
In any case, it’ll be interesting to see how these plans pan out. Bard of Blood releases on September 27th.
