Daredevil was the first ever Marvel series to air on Netflix. Jessica Jones followed suit, as the two shows successfully laid the groundwork for a mini Marvel Universe on Netflix.
And now, Krysten Ritter is about to return in and as Jessica Jones for the third and the final time. Netflix revealed way back, in April 2018, that the show was about to have another season. The filming, though, began in June.
As Marvel’s parent company, Disney, preps for the launch of Disney+, it’s obvious that we won’t really get much of Marvel on Netflix again. Upcoming Marvel series will, obviously, be a part of Disney+. Thus, it is safe to say that the third season of Jessica Jones is going to be the last of Marvel we see on Netflix.
Netflix initially canceled Iron Fist, closely followed by Luke Cage and Daredevil. And that was a huge shocker because all of those series were pretty well received by the audience and had a decent amount of fans. The massive streaming service then went on to cancel both, The Punisher and Jessica Jones at once. In spite of this, Netflix promised to release the already filmed season of Jessica Jones.
Netflix confirmed on Wednesday that the show will air sometime in June, though, a date hasn’t yet been revealed. The show will culminate the enormously successful Marvel-Netflix partnership.
Netflix hasn’t revealed much about the plot and the timeline of the show. Although one thing is for sure- all the essential characters are set to return. So we will definitely see Rachael Taylor, Eka Darville, Carrie-Ann Moss, and, of course, Krysten Ritter yet again as Trish, Malcolm, Jeri, and Jessica Jones respectively.

The last season didn’t really end well for Jessica, and her sister, Trish. Needless to say, the upcoming season is probably about to conclude that part of Jessica’s story. We will just have to wait and see what happens.
