All of the promotional teasers, trailers and TV Spots for Avengers: Endgame has been a bit of a blur. Rather than telling us more about the movie, they seemed to make the plot even more mysterious, successfully leaving us wanting even more. However, Marvel released a clip from _Avengers: Endgame_and this one seems drastically different from all the previous ones.
Well, this one is different because, for starters, this is the most Marvel has given us as far as the plot of Avengers: Endgame is concerned. Secondly, it gives out an awful lot of information (or so we think…?).
This clip starts with Black Widow letting the other Avengers know that Thanos has used the gauntlet again. Well, this particular happening seemed extremely unlikely, seeing as the last time we saw the gauntlet in Infinity War, it was completely tattered and shabby. So how the gauntlet was able to withstand another snap is beyond our understanding. Or was it something other than the snap that the gauntlet was used for? And it also means that the remaining Avengers on earth have somehow found a way to track the gauntlet and its usage.
And while they are discussing how they should try to defeat Thanos, Bruce Banner points out that there are slim chances of them winning. That’s where it all gets real interesting. Captain Marvel notes Bruce’s observation, pointing out that now that she’s here they can win.
Then Rhodey questions the statement pointing out that everyone present in the room was a superhero. He asks her where she’d been up until then, and I think that’s the question we’ve all had ever since we watched Captain Marvel. And that’s when Captain Marvel tells him that while the Avengers were busy trying to save Earth, she was going around the galaxy saving the other planets.
And remember that little face off between Thor and Captain Marvel? The one that we’ve already seen twice? Yeah, this is the part where we get the complete picture. For the third time now! Seems a little suspicious coming from Marvel, though.
Talking about the clips and teasers, and trailers, the marketing strategy Marvel adopted to promote Avengers: Endgame isn’t really Marvel-like. The strategies Marvel adopted for Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame respectively, are literally poles apart. Marvel is showing anything and everything related to Avengers: Endgame in a very, very mysterious light. And as different as their current strategy is, it is working better than all of the others combined.
Marvel has released plenty of stuff that gives us a fair idea of what Endgame’s visuals would be like. On the other hand though, we haven’t the slightest clue what the plot is going to be. All of the cast and crew members are tight-lipped, too. Ah, the cherry on the top. Whatever this ‘mysterious marketing’ thing is that Marvel has taken a liking to, it’s definitely working in favour of Avengers: Endgame.
Update: Marvel Studios have released several other TV spots as well which further cement the fan theory that they may be splitting up in teams for time-travel. CHeck it out here:
