Spider-Man: Far From Home Left Quite a Trail of Questions

Spider-Man: Far From Home wasn’t just any random superhero adventure. Marvel started a whole new phase with it.

Spider-Man: Far From Home wasn’t just any random superhero adventure. Marvel started a whole new phase with it. And as glorious as the movie was, it left us scratching our heads for quite a few things. So here we have a list of all the things that were left unanswered at the end of the movie. Now, needless to say, there are obviously going to be some major spoilers ahead, so proceed with caution.

Let’s just rip the band-aid right off, because there’s absolutely no other way to go about it, seeing as we can’t really start with not so spoiler-y questions. They’re all huge spoilers, all of them.

Yet Another Spoiler Warning, just to be safe.

What’s The Deal With The Multiverse?

Remember when we were all fangirling over Spider-man: Far From Home exploring the multiverse? You know, thinking about Marvel introducing X-Men and Deadpool and stuff? Yeah, well, we can forget about it for now. Seems like Beck took advantage of the utter confusion surrounding the Blip, and made up the multiverse theory. And Nick Fury, who was actually Talos- yup, coming onto that in a bit- bought it because, you know, he wasn’t Fury. We should’ve known not to trust Marvel.

But on the brighter side, Marvel is known to drop hints about potential plots. Wakanda, for example, was teased in both, Iron Man 2, and Avengers: Age of Ultron. So, there may be a multiverse waiting for us in one of the future Marvel movies.

Is Anybody Else a Skrull?

Nick Fury in Spider-Man: Far From Home

In Spider-Man: Far From Home, Nick Fury is actually Talos while Fury tends to a potentially more cosmic business.

After a surprising turn of events, we found out that Nick Fury wasn’t actually Nick Fury. Instead, Talos and his wife were posing as Nick Fury and Maria Hill. That was a rather good plot twist. But were they the only Skrulls on Earth? Or were there any more? And if there were, who were they posing as? And more importantly, Spider-Man: Far From Home takes place right after Avengers: Endgame. So, was that real Fury at Tony’s funeral, or was he, too, Talos in disguise? Clearly, that one question leads to a lot more questions.

Why and How Are There Skrulls on Earth?

We’ve established Fury was actually Talos. Other questions that arise are why did Talos actually pose as Fury? And how did Fury initially contact the Skrulls for help? Maybe Captain Marvel was involved, considering that is how the two parties met. The existence of the Skrulls on Earth is extremely confusing, and Marvel has done nothing to ease it.

Where is Maria Hill?

Spider-Man

Spider-Man: Far From Home does not reveal where the real Maria Hill actually is.

Yay, here’s yet another question that involves the shape-shifting aliens. Kinda. Talos’s wife, Soren, poses as Maria Hill. We’ve established that much. And at the end of the movie, we got a glimpse of the real Nick Fury. But not Maria Hill. Which means we don’t know where she is. Good.

Is Mysterio Really Dead?

Jake Gyllenhaal as Mysterio in Spider-Man: Far From Home

Jake Gyllenhaal as Mysterio in Spider-Man: Far From Home

Ah, the question that matters a lot. As we’d suspected, Mysterio wasn’t actually a good guy. Marvel did try to portray him otherwise, but hardly any fans believed Marvel. He was the bad guy. But he died. Now, it isn’t unlike Marvel to kill villains at the end of their first movie. But like I said, do we ever trust Marvel? I mean, a genius engineer, who was also a master manipulator, by the way, wearing a cape and an evil green suit died. A bit unbelievable, don’t you think?

What’s Up With Flash?

Uh, this one’s slightly random, but interesting, nonetheless. Flash Thompson serves as comic relief in Spider-Man: Far From Home. His obsession with Spider-Man and his very apparent distaste towards Peter, on the other hand, sort of added to the comic part. Wonder what’s going to happen now that everyone knows Peter Parker is Spider-Man. However, we did get to peek into his personal life a little bit. Fleeting mentions of a sick father and just generally busy parents sounds like a familiar origin story of a certain villain.

What’s Fury Really Up to In Spider-Man: Far From Home?

Well, Fury is usually up to a lot of things at once and that goes without saying. but Spider-Man: Far From Home actually kind of confused us when it came to Fury. He is enjoying a virtual earthly vacation in space. All of this while someone else is posing as him on Earth. Clearly, he has bigger and better things to attend to. Or maybe, more dangerous? Well, dangerous seems to be the right word. Because this looks to me like the start of S.W.O.R.D. Sentient World Observation and Response Department, to be very precise. This is just S.H.I.E.L.D, but on a cosmic level. Sounds like a tough job to do.

Where and Who Are The New Avengers?

avengers: endgame

avengers: endgame

Ah, well, that’s quite an interesting question. Especially considering the fact that quite a few of the original Avengers are in no shape to fight, or are no more. But the original six aren’t the only Avengers in the MCU. There are a lot of others like Bucky, Doctor Strange, Sam Wilson, who, by the way, is the new Captain America, and Captain Marvel. But Talos-Fury didn’t call any of them. Young Peter is the one he went to. And that leaves us with the question, how many of these heroes consider themselves one of the Avengers? And where on Earth are they?

How Will the World React to Peter Parker Being Spider-Man?

We all know Peter wanted his identity to remain a secret. But Spider-Man: Far From Home doesn’t really care much about that, considering his identity is revealed in one of the oh-so-glorious post-credits scenes. And this alone could steer MCU’s 4th phase into a whole new direction.

Is J.Jonah Jameson Back For Good?

Spider-Man-Casting-JK-Simmons

J.K Simmons is back as J. Jonah Jameson!

Fans sorely missed J.K Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson. But his appearance in the post-credits scene did actually come as a surprise. We can only hope that he is going to stick around for good. That’s the least Marvel could do after revealing Peter’s identity. Oh, not to mention, I’m still not over Tony and Natasha’s death. So Marvel better make him stick around.
