“We discovered that there’s a third island! And they’re plotting to destroy us all!”
In the new trailer of The Angry Birds movie, a new threat emerges that puts both Bird and Pig Island in danger and Red, Chuck, Bomb, and Mighty Eagle (Peter Dinklage) team up with pigs Leonard, his assistant Courtney, and tech pig Garry to forge a truce to save their homes to face a new villain on a third island.
In the beginning, the trailer focuses on the protagonist, Red (Sudeikis). “Hey, it’s me: Red — you know, the guy everybody hated? Who kind of saved the whole island? Anyway, war with Leonard and the pigs — still going on,” he says. Lying on the floor of his home eating popcorn and pouring salt in his mouth he continues, “I still have some anger issues, but I’m finding healthier ways to deal with it.”
It continues from where the first movie left off with all the birds and pigs trying to be friends despite their differences as the pigs charge in Red’s residence and warn him about the new danger. And so, after that the flightless angry birds and the scheming green piggies from a team.
After that, there is a lot of unfunny and useless stuff in the later part but there isn’t much expected from the movie as the first movie was surprisingly disappointing. But let’s hope it makes some fans laugh.
Adventure Time‘s Thurop Van Orman directs The Angry Birds Movie 2, which is co-directed by Rick and Morty‘s John Rice. The screenplay is written by Peter Ackerman.
The film is set to release on Aug 16.
