Terminator 2: Judgement Day was a juggernaut at the box office back in 1991. But the following movies in the franchise didn’t really catch up. And now we have a yet another Terminator movie, Terminator: Dark Fate.
Paramount Pictures and Skydance have released the very first trailer for the movie, which is about to be the sixth installment in the franchise. It is a direct sequel to James Cameron’s supreme hit back in 1991, Terminator 2: Judgement Day. Check out the trailer below.

Terminator: Genisys (2015) hoped to institute a trilogy, but the hopes went straight down the drain after the movie received poor responses from the audiences as well as the critics. After that, the rights for the franchise went right back to James Cameron. His directorial venture back in 1991, Terminator 2: Judgement Day, was a solid hit at the box office. It was the highest-grossing film of the year. And it’s safe to assume that under Cameron’s supervision, hoping for the same results from Terminator: Dark Fate would hardly be a mistake.
This time around, though, Cameron is the producer and Tim Miller, who also directed Deadpool, dons the director’s hat. As a matter of fact, Terminator: Dark Fate is about to be Miller’s very first feature film after Deadpool after he walked out of Deadpool 2 due to creative differences.
Arnold Schwarzenegger returns to his role as T-800. Interestingly enough, the movie also witnesses Linda Hamilton reprising her role as Sarah Connor after 28 agonizingly long years. The film apparently steers the franchise into a whole new direction. It stars Mackenzie Davis, Diego Boneta, Gabriel Luna, and Natalia Reyes alongside the previously mentioned legends.
Linda Hamilton reprises her role as Sarah Connor in Skydance Productions and Paramount Pictures’ “Terminator: Dark Fate”
This time around, Gabriel Luna plays the Terminator, and the anti-Terminator squad is trying to save Dani (Natalia Reyes). And an added perk to the regenerative liquid-metal terminator is replicating. Eh, at least that’s what the trailer shows us. The exact “perk” isn’t clear in the trailer, but it’s obvious that defeating the Terminator is going to be tougher than it was.
What’s With The Soundtrack in The Trailer?
The trailer consists of a song. An eerily fascinating one, nonetheless. And it quite suits the trailer. It is the cover of Björk’s “Hunter”.
The Terminator movies are all about cyborgs hunting down their preys. And the song in the trailer contains lyrics like “I’m the hunter”, and “I’m going hunting”. The song also gives off a good chunk of dangerous vibes, unlike your usual lighthearted songs. And apparently, from the looks of the trailer, that’s how the movie is gonna be- dangerous, and definitely not one off your regular flicks. And that’s how and why the song relates to the movie on more levels than one.
Terminator: Dark Fate hits theatres this year on November 1.
